This is the Central Processing Unit, or more commonly known as the processor. As the name suggests, it processes information and does all of the calculations. The two main manufacturers of CPUs are AMD and Intel. Now, there is a war in the technology world between whether Intel CPUs or AMD CPUs are better. However, I want you to decide based upon your preferences.

AMD CPUs are definitely the better choice for low-end, budget PCs because they offer decent performance for a much lower cost.
